There are two major changes resulting from the recent NAR litigation settlement.
1. Properties listed by a seller’s broker in databases known as the multiple listing service (MLS) will no longer be allowed to include an offer of compensation to buyer’s agents.
2. Homebuyers who want to work with an agent will need to sign a written agreement with that agent prior to touring a home.
There have been adjustments made to how real estate compensation may be offered and paid. The California Association or REALTORS® form Broker Compensation Advisory does a great job of explaining this.
